I am trying to extract a musical portion from a DVD I own. I used DVD Shrink to obtain my VOB file. I used Windows Media Player to play the VOB file to make sure I had the audio segment I wanted to convert to a WAV. Earlier today, I downloaded DGIndex and used the following sequence to try to produce a WAV file:

    File>Open, (highlight the source VOB).
The "File List" window opened with my VOB highlighted, pressed <OK>, "File List" window closes and the VOB is displayed in a window titled DGIndex - VTS_01_1.VOB[720x480][File 1/1][VOB 1][Cell 1]. Next, I selected File>Play. The VOB plays, but only video, no audio output. An "Information" box was also displayed and the "Audio" section contains 80: AC3 3/2 384, and nothing else. Next, I select Audio>Output Method>Decode AC3 Track to WAV. File>Save Project>(typed in a filename),>Save. After it processed the file, in the destination directory, there is now a .d2v file and a .log file but no .wav file.

    Any suggestions?

    DGIndex doesn't playback audio.

Did you click 'Audio' > 'Select Track(s)' before 'Output Method'

Thank you for your response. Yes, I have. According to the "Select Track(s)" section of the DGIndex - User Manual at neuron2.net, "The desired tracks are selected by specifying a comma-separated list of audio id's. The audio id's are obtained from the Audio group box of the information dialog after running a preview operation." The comma-separated values used in the manual's example are c0 and c1. I don't see anything like that after running a preview operation, just a one-line value, "80: AC3 3/2 384".

I entered an 80 in Select Track(s)as suggested, and it worked; a wav file was produced. I don't know why it worked, but then that's probably because I don't know what the 80 represents. I guess I was looking for something that would be a comma-separated value, like in the DGIndex guide example.

Comma separated when there is more than one audio stream selected.
