I only have a budget LCD HDTV so I was wondering if it would make much difference if I upgraded my bog standard £5 scart leads.
My TV is an Acoustic Solutions LCD32805HD

I don't know about SCART, but Canada's CBC did a report on HDMI cables two years ago.
The later part of the report includes lab tests of the various cables.
My own experience is that the cheapest cables do as well as the most expensive.
As long as your not swinging from the cables they perform alike.

I borrowed one from my mum and well yes it did make a difference the colour was richer and the blacks where a lot more real and for only £14 I think this was a good deal.
I will need to replace 2 more but definately worth it.

This was on TV a whilst ago, think it was The Gadget Show. Apparently, the quality is the same for both the cheap un's and the gold plated one's.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe SCART is an analog format, which means that better quality cables will make a difference.

With digital, like HDMI, DVI, etc, there is no real difference between expensive and inexpensive cables under normal conditions.

I highly recommend using a digital cable, especially since you seem to have a nice TV.
