I'm considering buying a 1TB internal hard drive that I've seen on sale. My desktop came with a 32 Gig drive. The one that I saw had mentioned that it ran pretty cool. Any advice? Obviously, I'm new in the field of DIY pc upgrading, so forgive the ignorance. Thanks in advance for any and all input.

Make sure that you have the latest BIOS updates. Make sure that you can connect it to your moother board (ie, sata, ide, interface).

BTW, when posting to Tech Support, it is helpful for others to know the Make & model number of your computer, The OS you are using (or intend to use)

Sorry & thanks. I have a Dell Dimension 8300. The current OS is Windows XP Professional, but I was planning to upgrade to Vista if the memory upgrade is feasible.
