the sound in my Acer Aspire 5315 laptop has stopped..! all the volumes are up and videos , mp3 etc are playing normally but I do not get any sound. I re-installed the realtek audio drivers and many other audio codecs but I do not get any sound. I'm using windows xp and I have run registry clean etc programs but still no sound. everything is working fine in the device manager (no exclamation marks) and I do not know why the sound has stopped.
Is it possible that I have installed different codecs that malfunction each other or smth like that? If you could help at all...
regards

1) You need to check out the rules for titles they need to be discriptive.
2) I doubt that it is your codecs
3) Maybe your sound card is malfunctioning. Check in the control pannel/system and make sure the OS 'thinks' your sound card is OK. Actually run the hardware test. I would re-install that driver. I needed to replace a sound card on a desk top it wasn't until I tried to reinstall the driver that I got any indication there was anything wrong with the card. The sell USB sound cards.
