MPC freeze when trying to open dvds

Hello my first post here. media player classic is freezeing when i try to open any dvds, I have set the region on my burner. I dont know what could be the issue it is a sata burner and i am using vindows vista home premium 64 bit. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!
