pls help!!!!!!!!!
i own a fat ps2 which is modded with magic mod......
it seems that my lens would be dead soon...
so i want a help on usb adavnce.i read somewhere that we can copy files from cd of usbadvance image to memory card and run games from memory stick later using only the exploited memory card...
pls instruct me on how to burn usbadvance disc and what are all the further steps.is there any othe software also.i dont own swap magic.

hey thanks for the help.....
but now my memory card has stopped workin.games doesnt work with memory card inserted.cant i put the boot.elf file in my usb stick from cd and game iso in the same or other usb stick ?
if so then please help!

Before you can run any ELF files from a USB stick, you need to first install fmcb 1.8 exploit to the memory card.
The PS2 by itself can't recognize the usb stick or any applications on it.
I would suggest to get another memory card

hey i think may be the memory card reader of ps2 is nt workin coz my memory card was new.so cant i boot from cd the elf files????

FMCB will install to memory card 1 or 2, did you try both slots.
You can burn USBAdvance to CD and boot that, or you can burn uLaunch.elf to CD or DVD and run it also.

hey my memory card has started working..i got it repaired..but the link you gave me firstly has a mc boot package link in it which does not download it for me.can u provide me wid the correct ver of mcboot package.which elf i require to play videos and mp3.my ps2 is fat one

hey i wrote the cd according to the link and included all the req elf in the INSTALL folder.my ps2 shows that a ps2 disc is inserted but when i run it it shows black screen for 3 sec and then returns back to the choice of selection bretween mc and cd.what to do now

When installing with a modchip, you need to use the fmcb 1.8b package - http://sksapps.com/exploit/freevast/Free_McBoot_1.8b.rar
Then make sure to have all your ELF files you need in the INSTALL folder.

hey i instaled 1.8 b and i m dicussing the problems of it only i was able to write the cd but my last comment tells what happened.....pls tell me what to do?????????

And if you select the CD again in the browser, what happens then.
And just to remind or let you know, fmcb 1.8 will not work with most modchips.
You can use the modchip to install fmcb, but to run fmcb you will need to disable the chip.

hey whenever i press X on cd the screen becmes black for 4 sec and then back to the same selection menu of memory card and cd.it happens again and again.how to disable modchip?is there anty risk in doing so?

Ok let me get this straight
You have already installed fmcb 1.8 to memory card - Yes or No
If yes, then the reason its going black is because you can't use the modchip and fmcb 1.8
Need to know exactly which "Magic" chip you have to know how to disable.
If its No, then you may have prepared the CD wrong. Recheck the tutorial.

So you can run Matrix Infinity manager then, if you have Matrix 1.93 firmware
You can actually install ELF files to memory card and run using the infinity manager if you wanted too.

But if you still want fmcb 1.8, then why not just burn a CD or DVD of uLe 4.38, then using "filebrowser" in uLe, browse to your USB drive and install fmcb 1.8

Just place your fmcb 1.8 files in the ROOT of the USB drive like below.

i have copied ulaunch link's boot file in memory card.but when i enter the memory card it shows 1 curropted data file.should i install the psu ulaunch memory card image???or is it okay???what to do after that to boot games from pen drive??????thanks for the help

hey i m getting the ulaunch icon on opening memory card..but i got this by the memory card psu paste..but on entering it only two options copy and delete.......now how to launch ulaunch without cd...and how to copy images of games usb stick and play them...????

According to the Matrix tutorial, you need to just paste the BOOT.ELF from either the CD or DVD to memory card, or use psupaste for the mc save.
Make sure for either method that it goes inside a folder named 'BOOT' with all uppercase letters.
You should then be able to launch uLe by hitting R1 on the PS2 as you boot up.
As for how to load games and use a usb drive , check this link
Or check the sticky section in the PS2 section of this forum for tutorials,
Using uLe you can launch the USBAdvance.elf right from the USB drive that you will have the games installed too.

i am not able to get ulaunch after continously pressing r1 at boot up.
but i m able to see the cube of ulaunch in my memory card save.i am able to boot ulaunch from cd and from there from memory card BOOT folder.the usb extreme software doesnt supports pen drives,i have tried many of them.

i have still not disabled the macrovision bcoz i have still not entered the config menu by pressing triangle and circle at boot up of ps2....pls help

Well do that then. Press Triangle + Circle. Change the setting.
USBExtreme does work off an External USB hdd though as I have done it many times on a 300GB hdd.
You could use the CD of uLe then, to Filebrowse the USB drive to load USBAdvance.elf
I am not sure why the uLe won't load from memory card as I can't see your setup.
Maybe download a newer version of the CD or DVD of uLe and then it will allow you too psupaste the mc save properly.

when i put games on usb stick with usbextreme i am able to put only one as ul.cfg file is common in all.the game whose ul.cfg is pasted runs rest all do not but usb advance displays their name.isnt there any other way i can put more than 1 game in root of usb drive?

The ul.cfg file should show all games listed.
Use this new tool to copy games to your usb drive.

As for your BOOT.ELF not loading by pressing R1, I am not sure what the problem could be.
Try holding R1 before you turn PS2 on.
