big probs with my sata drive can anyone help please
hi i have had alot of problems with my sata drives

i first brought them brand new 2 x 160 gb sata drives
i set them up on a nVidia RAID-0 so there stripped
it failed due to driver probs after it installed windows it wasnt booting into windows
so i thought for now we will forget about that and lets run just one on its own and ill put the other drive in a different system

now when i reboot my pc with just the one drive in and i have my windows install disc in i let it load the disc and i press enter when it says press enter to install windows

    now a error comes up

SETUP DID NOT FIND ANY HARDDISK DRIVES INSTALLED IN YOUR COMPUTER.
MAKE SURE AND HARD DISK DRIVES ARE POWERED ON AND PROPERLY CONNECTED
TO YOUR COMPUTER, AND THAT DISK-RELATED HARDWARE CONFIGURATION IS
CORRECT. THIS MAY INVOLVE RUNNING A MANUFACTORER-SUPPLIED DIAGNOSTIC
    OR SETUP PROGRAM

SETUP CANNOT CONTINUE. TO QUIT SETUP, PRESS F3

    .................................................. ...............................................

i know this can be fixed because it happened to me before and i took the drive back to the shop and they did something and it worked again
    any ideas?

what kind of windows installation cd (xp or vista) do you have?
Vista should have most sata drivers on the install disc.
XP depending on version sp1/sp2/sp3 might not have all the available sata drivers.

If you have an older xp disc, you might want to slipstream it to a later version. Or you can get the sata/motherboard drivers and just add them when the windows setup ask for them.

That's what I would check first.

to be honest thats not the problem because what has happened happened, the day before and i took it back to the shop and he said it was still in the stripe somehow and he did something and then partitioned it and i took them back home and it worked fine ran my windows and it formated and re installed
now i messed and tried raid again its back in the same place it was before
so what the lad did in the shop i didnt see but it didnt take him long
just wondering if there is any way i can make this hardrive back to how it came from the shop
    like a factory reset thing
i know its not a bios problem as it worked before that as soon as i got them back form the shop
but i cleared cmos anyway and still no luck

sorry for the double post but it wont let me edit the last post

i just wanted to add that the bios is not picking it up either but the main post screen sees it when detecting an array but wont boot obviously because i removed the other drive and i did go into raid menu and cleared the raid and the drive so it shouldnt be looking for it but i think the drive needs reseetting to how it came from the shop.
    any ideas how?
