Hi, i just followed the instructions in the sticky for modding the xbox using a USB drive and unleashedX. I selected the dual boot where if you press the power button it SHOULD boot to unleashed. However when i do such it boots like regular only the difference seems to be the red circle at the front of the console. so...i soft modded it..i think..? but uh what do I do now? I was mainly looking to run emulation (Nes through mame possibly) maybe even psx if possible, and then of course run burnt xbox games. (any good ones btw? i know nothing about the xbox) thanks a bunch! --also i wasnt sure if i can install evolutionx over the unleashedx install. does it overwrite it or just confuse the system? --- ok so i looked around somemore and i found a video where it shows unleashedx and its a blue screen with extra features so now im SURE i am only booting to the xbox dashboard. now when i installed i backed up the eeprom and the ms. then i installed, using dual boot ntsc and the option where you can either boot to regular dash with the eject button, or unleashedx with the power button. then i shut it down with the menu, pressed the eject button, took out the cd, pressed power, then held power til the unleashedx final screen came up. pressed a then let it shut down. when i boot it still doesnt work! what am i doing wrong? (im not hitting the eject button btw to boot it, ive tried holding the power button still to no avail.) thanks!
i had the same problem. set your clock and date correctly then shut down and reboot. u will then get the blue evo x screen
why do you even bother with a dual boot anyway? XBL for the original xbox ended most support in nov 2007.
it dont matter. i set a couple of my boxes with single boot and it still starts up with the microsoft dash until the clock is set correctly
Out of the hundreds of xbox's i've modded i've never had the dash fail to load due to the clock. I guess the older way to mod and the avalaunch dash has something to do with it. Really dual boots are more of a problem than it's worth because it throws a fake eeprom if you decide to back it up. You need to uninstall the dual boot then backup the eeprom or your eeprom will come out as all 0000's for the serial number. Anyway it was just a question, didn't have anything to do with setting the clock.
