Hello, I have a problem that I have been trying to solve all day. I have an Asus M3N72-D motherboard with an nVidia 750a SLI chipset. I also have four 750 GB Seagate hard drives. I went to the bios and set them to a RAID 5 configuration. I then loaded my Windows XP installation disk with Service Pack 2, and I had installed the RAID drivers of my chipset that I got from the motherboard disk onto the disk using nLite. However, when I booted up, the setup would see the space (approximately 2.04 TB) but then did not know what to do with it. I tried all three of the options it gave me, but they all resulted in the installation crashing. However, all of the other RAID configurations work and install properly. Can anybody help me with this problem? Thanks in advance for any help
If you're using a 32 bit version of Windows XP, then you need to make sure that your main (boot) partition is less than 2TB. During the Windows XP installation, choose to create a new partition with the appropriate size. If you use a 64 bit version of Windows XP, then you won't have this problem. There are some ways around this problem if you search google, but you really don't need a boot partition that large anyway. Simply make your boot partition a 100GB and then make a data partion using the rest of the space.
