Hi, im having problems opening a new tab in internet explorer 8. i recently upgraded from ie7 to ie8. when i was at ie7 i could open tabs and stuff but now every time i open a tab or new window with ie8 i get an error "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." and it has an option to send the error report or dont send. so do i have to go back down to ie7 or is there a way around this? btw im running windows xp
I would uninstall IE 8 and try to install it again not using the windows update. You can uninstall it from the control panel. Would it interest you to get another browser like Firefox its much better.
yeh i had this same issues a while ago just clean your history it should work again Ie8 i believe is way better and faster than FireFox 3
I had a simular problem with vista, after i opened up 2 or three tabs with IE8, if i opened up any more they would just stall and not respond. After researching this prob i managed to sort it out and i believe the same solution applies to XP. open a new "Command Prompt at the prompt, run the command "regsvr32 actxprxy.dll". Restart computer Apparently this particular DLL does not always get registered correctly
jodav Nice fix. Thanks for posting it. I had exactly the same problem but your fix has got everything running nicely now. Much appreciated !
