Im building at budget htpc and have decided to go with an amd set up as i figured it would be the best choice for the price to performance value.

I deiced to pick a ASUS M3A78-EM (780G), But upon researching the board I noticed it doesnet support 7 channel LCPM over HDMI?

I know the (intel) 9300/9400 nvidia does support it, but Im not looking to spend extra money when I dont have to.

My question is, what does this mean? and how does it affect my htpc?
Would it affect BD playback though hdmi from my BD rom?

Im not using any receivers at the moment just analog sound. But would like to in the distant future (not anytime soon though)
