I got a acer aspire 3600 for a hundred bucks to find out the hard drive is grinding.

Should I replace it or get a external. I only use it in my bed room hooked up to a tv, I never carry it around.

If i get a external do i have to disconect the orig one so it wont grind

I dont even know if its the hard drive. It sounds like a air compressor. Everytime I turn on the comp or load a window.
