I am sending images through Outlook Express 6.0 I place them in the mail sheet, the screen asking about making images smaller shows up and all is well until I click "SEND" in Outlook. Then everything disappears from the screen, even icons on the desktop, and I have to do a Alt+Delete in order to be able to continue working. Can someone tell me where the problem lies? Thank you.

Verify that Outlook Express is the default email handler (from Control Panel).
Also, when the desktop disappears, bring up the Task Manager (Ctrl Alt Del) Click 'File' > 'New Task ( Run..) and type 'explorer' (no quotes) and 'ok' to see if it comes back.

Thank you for your help. I did all as indicated but unfortunately the problem remains the same.I also did a Windows Repair check and that did not throw any possible solutions. Any further ideas? Thanks.

The only other thing that comes to mind is to reset all web settings back to default or just reinstalling Outlook Express as it may have become corrupted.

The other option that comes to mind maybe just re-enter your account info for outlook express as in delete the email account infor and then create a new one with the same info.

It some times fixes the problem.

    Something like this.

    Good luck.

Since all else has failed with my Outlook Express, I will reinstall. I would like to know what I will loose in the reinstalling -- Contacts aren't a problem to import again, but what about all the other folders? Is there a way to save them and import them? Thank you. Trizia

You'd better back up your personal folders or use the files and setting transfer wizard otherwise all of your e-mails will be lost.

Copying your entire user file is the best way since sometimes the files and settings wizard gets mad if the versions aren't synced.
