I recently downloaded dvdfab portable application. The problem with this is it will take the protection off but it wont shrink it down, so i am wondering if there is a portable application for dvd shrink on the net, where it is and is it free, if not does anybody know any similar portable application that wiil shrink down a dvd, iv got the full version of dvd shrink on my pc but i want a portable one, while we are on the subject of dvd shrink iv noticed it will not work with any dvd movies made by Sony i think its the protection they use (something like arcos im not sure of that spelling)is there anything i can do about this. Thanks

There is no portable version of dvd shrink, as it is not being updated anymore....not in the past 5 years or so. Brother Endo gave you a list of the recomended freeware route to backup your movies.

Question. Why do you want a "portable" version? I'm kinda lost here. A program that is just over 1MB in size is too big?

So why is there a forum for dvdshrink as thats mainly why people use this program, anyway let me put it this way then, if i go to a mates and he has a homemade dvd but its bigger than 4.7gb and he has not got an application on his pc that will shrink it and he wont lend it to me and i want a copy i can use my portable app to shrink it, so is there a portable application that can shrink a dvd down to 4.7gb, is that better i dont want to get into trouble, thats what i meant in the first place.

I would have to disagree. This program is used to make backup copies of movies you OWN, not ones sitting around your mates house.
This forum is dedicated to help people that want to make legitimate backup copies of the movies they own so as to preserve the original from damage.
Therefore, it is not necessary to have Dvd Shrink as a portable app.
