Hi, I am having trouble with my hp pavillion 6000. When I try to start it up I get a black screen and one long beep, followed by two short beeps. The computer won't respond when I hit the power button. I have to take out the battery to turn off the computer. It has been like this for months. The weird thing is I tried it today and it actually booted alright. I left the screen and when I came back it was blank again, and I couldn't get the computer to work at all. Any ideas? Thank you.

Sounds like either faulty RAM or dodgy graphics card/chip.

I agree with sam if it boots and u see a bios screen but does not do a memory check properly then its your RAM and all you need to do is change the RAM and it should fix the problem.
