    Okay so here goes...

I had a few .avi files that I converted to dvd through convertxtodvd.
Then I burnt those to dvd with ImgBurn. I played them in my laptop and they played fine, but in the player, they would skip frames and freeze near the end.

I wish to know why this is happening and how to stop it.

You May be burning Too Close to the Edge of the Disc. Try setting the Target Size to 4300mb. You Could try Burning your Disc at 1/2 The rated speed of your Media. Also your Player May need cleaned.

Tried burning the disk at a lower speed, but it didn't work out.

It seems that the avi's that were of a lower quality seem to play fine, even though they occupy a greater space on the disk.

Also, this freezing always occurs at the end, near the last 30 - 40 mins.

What should I do now ??

    Edit: -- I'm using Sony DVD-R 16x

The ID of the disk is SONY16D1

Try using verbatim 8X -R and burn at 4X.
Also did you set your Target area to 4300?

    I'll try Verbatim next.
