if you have a bunch of Standard definition (480x720) MPEG-2 Files, is it possible to make a blu-ray disc (with menus) that will contain hours and hours of clips... tv episodes etc...

may sound like a dumb idea, but im just curious if anyone has or knows anybody who has done this. if so, what programs would you reccommend?

Not a dumb idea at all, many people ask about this. Here is what you need.

multiAVCHD. The author also has his own forum with support for this app, it's probably linked in the first post.

EDIT: You may want to consider using a DVD9 with a blu-ray stucture (aka AVCHD DVD), playable on most BD players. This will save some $$$$. This is what multiAVCHD does, creates AVCHD on DVD, and blu-ray compilations.

it keeps the resolution as is. It will not upconvert if it is 480p, this is only done for DVDs
