Not sure if this is the right place for this or if I should go to the DVD ripping section, but I'll try here first. I've extracted subtitles from DVDs before, generally I run DVD decrypter then some kind of OCR program on the VOBs to convert them directly to SRT files. But this time I cant find the subtitles. I know that there's 2 subtitle streams, a full subs and a signs and text stream, but have no idea where to begin looking for them or what to do if I find them.
Try This: Open the movie in DVDSubEdit (File > Open Full Domain) by selecting the first VOB file (generally VTS_01_1.VOB) Select the subpic and run the OCR feature. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/subtitle_tools/dvdsubedit.cfm
Thanks, that got it. Usually the subs show up in VLC after running DVDdecrypter to extract the VOBs. For some reason they didn't this time but it seems that they were still there because DVDsubedit found them. Thanks again.
