I've read all the rules and I think this is a new topic. I've been using AnyDVD, DVD Shrink, Decrypt for some time now... taking my collection of about 4000 titles (I collect DVD's) and putting them onto an array of 1.5TB hard drives for use on a Slingcatcher... essentially creating a jukebox for my collection.

I am on a PC... not a mac.

I've noticed there are certain DVD's which will work with Decrypter, but not with Shrink and vise versa.

Now I'm facing a new issue... several of my commercial DVD's don't even show up at all... they will not mount... the drive (J:) stays untitled, and when I double click the disk letter, the message is "please insert disk".

Is there a way for me to get windows to recognize these disks?

I am using a Lightscribe DVDMulti Recorder to mount the disks.

Thanks in advance for helping me here,

    Adam

Try using an application such as Isobuster, which uses its own
    routines to read the disk.

To copy your disks, you need to use either anydvd or dvdfab, as both dvd decrypter and dvd shrink have no longer been updated in over 5yrs.

    Thanks guys,

I'm quite certain it's a hardware issue as I bit the bullet and bought an external USB2 burner (it never hurts to have a spare)... and the troubled dvd's work fine in that device.

I also bought anydvd... to help me with some of the more difficult encryptions.

Has anyone here seen this application "RipIt-4Me"??? I downloaded it and it does some nifty stuff including a 1 click rip.

Anyway, thanks... would still like to fix my old burner... but for now this'll do.
