USB major slowdown! please help!!

    everything was working fine till few day ago, my USB slot use for file transfer on my PC vista home x64 slow so much, almost can't use for anything! think was like 241kb/sec or worst! please help if you know what happen! T.T

    this is gonna sound to simple but it might work, power down your pc and unplug it from the wall turn off all the peripherals connected to the usb ports let it sit for about 10 minutes plug everything back in and boot up. What is suspect is either a caching error or a static charge in one of your usb devices. I had a customer actually destroy his pc due to a static build up in his usb thumb drive because he was always pulling it out of the slot instead of using the safe device removal tool which powers it down and lets you know when it is safe to remove this tool is on your desktop taskbar next to the time and shows a green check mark in a grey box tht is where your supposed to remove devices properly.
