Can't get my PSP register to PS3 for remote play?

Why can't my PSP register to PS3 for remote play?
Can anyone please help. My firmware is 4.01 M33-2

As far as i can recall, there was trouble with various custom firmware with remote play.
I would suggest you upgrade your custom firmware to 5.00M33-6.

Almost definitely the old firmware is the issue, just upgrade it like Sudds suggested and that should fix it. Though even I stopped using remote play as a precaution because of my hacked FW and the possibility of Sony knowing and doing something about it, maybe.

Hook your psp up to the ps3 and put it into usb mode. Does it detect it as a flash drive or specifically a psp? If it dosen't detect it as a psp which I think is the problem here you have to run chilly willy's key cleaner.

I had the same issue, its caused by the old school psp downgrading / custom firmwares messing around with the internal keys in the flash, the newer ones don't do it but if you've ever used any of the old school ones you'll need to fix what it messed up using chilly willy's key cleaner.
