i have 2 dvd burners,asus and a pioneer,,,i have burned many dual layers disks with no problems,,,,,suddenly i cant get one dual layer burned with not one of the writers,,,,,it gives a similar error as this one I/O Error! Device: [0:1:0] HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GSA-H21N A105 (E (ATA) ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: 2A 00 00 07 0F E0 00 00 20 00 Interpretation: Write (10) – Sectors: 462816 – 462847 it still burns single dvds fine,,,,what went wrong
I guess it's the asus that is playing up .. pioneer don't use that oem junkware designation on their drives AFAIK. The drive playing up is hitachi-liteon qc fail oem garbage.. it's probably just failed after it's max 50 or so burns. without the exact error theres really no way to tell what is going on except an I/O error.. honestly that could be anything just about.. failed laser/busted cables/bad ram/software conflict .. all kinds of things.. BUT .. my experience of these drives with the oem fail junkware designation is it's died in the usual way.
but why is both still burning single layer dvds without a problem,,,,,i used the other day a few cheap princo dvd-r dl,,,,,,both writers did liked it but still burn it,,,,but after that i put my head on a block then the shit started when i used the dvd+r dl's again,,,could it b........
i used about 12 dual layer disks,,,,,not one completed,,,3 makes,,,4cos,verbetim and memorex,,,,,cant b the disks, not all 3 brands atleast,,,,, cant see how both burners could crash at the same time and still write single layers fine
