Nero Burning ROM Audio Plug-in Folder

I just bought and downloaded a full version of Nero 9. I am trying to burn an Audio CD with .shn and .flac audio files using Nero Burning ROM. I downloaded Nero audio plug-ins including for FLAC and Shorten.

I attempted to locate the location for the plug-in directory for Burning ROM in the Options menu, but oddly, there are nine of the ten tabs shown in a picture and described in the manual from Nero, but the Audio tab is missing. Having to guess a little, I copied the SHN and FLAC dll files to C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 9\Nero Burning ROM\AudioPluginMgr.

Interestingly flac files work just fine. However, when I try to pull up a .shn file it pulls up and is recognized on the right in the "file browser", but when I try to move any .shn file into a compilation on the left and "Adding Files" dialogue box opens and the application freezes. When I try to play a .shn file through Burning ROM, an error message comes up reading "Unexpected file format."

I've searched around and found similar issues (alhtough no one with a missing "Audio" tab) and have tried going through StartSmart, Burning ROM and Nero Express. Doesn't work in any of them.

Appreciate any guidance. I've tried everything I can think of, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a deeper level of expertise to crack this one.
