hi all i installed windows xp on my cousins pc today after installing it i was putting all the bits on for her and she uses msn messenger and aol instant messenger.as soon as they were installed i started gettind loads of message pop ups from different places mainly porn sites its ok when i surf the net without any of the messengers on i dont get them i installed ad-aware 6.1 thought it might have been a bit of spy ware but its not ive got a pop up blocker for the net and that seems to work its just everytime i put instant messengers on would be grateful for any advice cheeeeeers
Then some other configu must have disabled the netsend or you have it configured "by accident" because of another setting

Try downloading the Google toolbar, I get no popups at all and it's Google! http://toolbar.google.com/
Try downloading Adaware or spybot from download.com Also if you use IE 6.0, I advice useing this other program... It's called mozilla firefox. You can get it from this link below... http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/start/ It has a built in pop up stopper so no more pop ups. It has worked great for me for past 4 weeks now... it's better than IE... HOped this helped...
I have used Spybot and ZoneAlarm with great success! and I also use http://www.opera.com/download/ Opera. not only is it more secure than IE, it's faster and has tabs, sessions and all kinds of very useful functions that IE just doesn't do. and if i happen to go on a site that has popups, i shut them off with a menu item. piece O pie!
