movie hangs after 10 seconds!?!

so i downloaded an xvid movie...i have the xvid codec installed also... so the first few seconds of the movue palys fine; then the video 'hangs'! it just, stops! the audio keeps going but the video is frozen! any ideas?? thanks a lot

 

I'm having the excact problem. I have uninstalled all codecs and installed ffdshow, but no good. Any ideas?

 

Dudes, I have resolved the problem:

I downloades avicoced from http://avicodec.duby.info/ to find out what was used to encode the movie. Them I followed the www-links to download the correct codecs.
