my usb cable for xbox dont work?

ok i solder the wires together i kept the color code the same. ,left off the yellow wire like one gentleman sAid to do from this forum, i kniow u need driver if u connect the controller to pc but need a driver for devices connected to xbox? thanks again :=}

another newbie ? to do with my usb cable not working optical mouse shouldnt matter? all i have is two optical mice no usb keyboard at the moment
