problems booting with slayer

Hi, i just installed xter 2.3 lite and reboot all goes well with the lights, switches and screen, now this is where it gets me. The screen says insert disc in flashing mode..
ok i forget that and then follow installation guide for slayer which says insert disc in xbox and reboot now i did that ....and the same as before holds...screen says install disc in flashing mode ...

Now what ? i guess it was the way the disc was made now when i view it on my pc, all i see is one rar icon.
is it that what i have to see when i view the dics or should it be extraxted and then burn? please help with the first question before answering this ..thanks

 

you have to flash your chip with a bios CD, not the Slayer's disc. download the xecuter 4981 bios and put that on a disc as for burning that disc look around the forum and you'l find out how to do it, it's too late here for me to look for it...lol The slayer's disc comes after and is used to install evox and the other variuos apps. i know that it has a flash chip option but it only flashes when you have already flashed the chip with another bios.

The .rar file is not the iso cd-rw witht the burned slayers on it. the Disk with the .rar file is the original zipped file that you can extract and make your own cd-rws. Use the ISO cd-rw after you flash
your chip

 

Did you purchase a programmer with your xecuter? I flashed my chip first and did not use any boot cd. Once the chip is flashed and it says " Xecuter2 Inside" the slayers disk will work.

Too many noobs around here don't understand that their chip is blank and think it will magically work when installed. Isn't that right SPOON ??

 

exactly a lot of newbs always ask if the cromwell bios will allow them to play burned games, they don't read anything which they should be. modding takes a lot of reading. i flashed my chip on the first try, with a bios cd.

 

Guys i get what u are saying and i do agree with you that not many people do any reading before modding their box...i did my research but was stop by the fact that i had no cd burner and i didn't know if it was possible to flash my chip in anyother way ...I have 2.3 lite and the programmer said it ONLY works on 2.3 plus or pro. So i posted this for help .. False on my findings was the fact that the lite chip can also be flashed via the programmer ( found this out in a IRC chat ) but thanks again for all your help and I will keep my progress posted.
