best thing to do now - is to keep up todate
visit my site below.
but to answer your question
i would upgrade to 2.71SE-C Dark_Alex's custom firmware
then you will want devhook 0.51 - you can get an easy nstaller from my site

I did read the downgrading process. But i just wanted to know if there is aany program that can downgrade my 2.5 psp(NOT TA-082) back to 1.5 without using the GTA disc.Im so desparate to know this.
Note-My psp was originally 2.0 which i downgraded to 1.5 and now sum1 has upgraded it to 2.5.

Hey plz help me here.I have a psp 2.5(was 2.0 originally and converted to 1.5 but now it is 2.5)Could any one tell me if there is a way to convert it back to 1.5.I tried the 2.5->1.5 downgrader but i dont have the GTA-Liberty City UMD or another psp with 1.5 software. Is it possible that I can upgrade to 2.71 and then downgrade to 1.5.Also originally my psp is JAP edition,so is there any problem if I upgrade to the 2.71 US version supplied by sony? Please give me a detailed answer!!

Can someone please help? I have followed all these guides and I think I have done it all correctly... 3 days later I am still getting nowhere so this is my last attempt - please help
I purchased a New Sony PSP V 2.71 with V 1.5 1.50 + 2gb pro duo.
Installed was:
HENB
DH 0.46 CHT LU
DEVHOOK 0.46 launcher
DEVHOOK 0.4x launcher for 2.71
Kernal Dumper
Ipi Dumper
Cube Sample
N and Dumper
Polyphonic sample by Shine
Sytem Param
If I hold the on/off switch to on for 10 seconds then boot up and go to PHOTOs and load HENB it shows a blue screen then powers off (no green screen) then it reboots and then I go to the memory stick and I have been selecting 'DEVHOOK 0.4x launcher for 2.71' (is this correct) it then boots to like a dos screen and says:
PSP DEVHOOK Ver.0.4x by BOOSTER
START
UMD SELECT
FIRMWARE
CPU CLOCK
BOOT SELECT
OTHER MENU
EXIT DEVHOOK
I choose 'UMD SELECT' then select 'cars.cso' then I go to firmware and I have tried all these options:
1.5
2.0
2.5
2.6
2.71
If I choose the UMD SELECT option only I get the following:
Image+ANYUMD
Image NIUMD(1.50ONLY)
I have tried both and still get the same!
When I put a game disc in I then select the UMD from the memory card options click on cars and its says the same with all ISOs and CSOs:
"To start, you must update the system software"
Can some one please help - this is all so very new to me. I only just found out that I needed a UMD to get the game image to come up so please treat me like a real noob.

east147 -
My bf has a 2.71 with a devhook launcher.
Take out any UMD disc (if any)
completely shutdown psp and then start up again, go to Photos and select the picture file. The screen then turns blue and then start up again.
When sony logo comes up, insert any UMD disc.
Go to GAME -> Memory Stick.
Select Devhook launcher.
It will go to the black screen menu.
Go to UMD select.
Select your game.
Then select 'start'.
It will restart again I think and go out to your psp normal menu.
Go to GAME - > UMD.
The chosen game preview should play after a sec or two.
Select and play.
That's how his works. You could try it.
Guess the important part is to make sure your UMD drive is empty when you reflash (The blue screen part), otherwise when it starts up it goes straight to your UMD's game. ><
Oh, and make sure to insert the UMD only after the sony logo comes up (after the blue screen).

Did you get your PSP going? I think i've got exactly the same one bought it of e-bay.and i got it going.
i have got one question for you, How much free space have you got on your PSP when your ISO folder is empty.
I have something like 500MB in my ISO and is telling me that my stick is full. Just thinking i may have a fake memory stick.Want to double check with somebody else with the same stick and the same software installed.
Thanks in advance for your reply

OK same thing happens each time! I have a 2 gig sony card.
Just tried ACE COMBAT X... The PSP UMD icon loads and when I hover over it I get the animated screen and music for Ace Combat X however when I click on it it says: "To start, you must update the system software"
I just dont know what I have done wrong!
