ThisDude - Thanks for such a clear guide! It was just what I was looking for.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get my backup isos to run. I get all the way through the steps, and I can see and select my iso. It even shows up on the menu with the picture and music, so it looks like all is good. But then when I select it to run it, it first shows the PSP flash screen (that it always shows when starting a umd) and then the screen goes blank. About a minute later, the PSP turns itself off.
I have tried this with multiple isos - 2 of them do the blank screen and then turn off. 1 brought up an error screen that it couldn't read the file.
Any ideas are appreciated! So you know, I am 3.10 OE-A' and I am NOT TA-082.

The one that brought up an error screen that it couldn't read the file: Did you load that game a second time? Sometimes people have to load it a second time like me.

No, didn't load the second time either. I've tried 5 different isos now, with no luck. I either get the blank screen or cannot load error 80020148. I have a 2GB mem stick on order, and I plan on using that when it arrives, so no big deal really.
I'm new to PSP hacks/homebrew - just got my PSP a week ago. If you have any suggestions of which forums/websites to visit, that would be appreciated. There's alot of info out there, though some of it seems 'stale' - outdated and therefore potentially misleading - so info on where to visit for a newbie is much appreciated.
Thanks again for your help!

Hey, this guide is GREAT! But I only have one problem. I installed the drivers got USBhost working and all that, but... Each time I load the game, and as soon as the gameboot plays, the usb gets disconnected. Then At the last second the USB comes back on and says:
Originally posted by PSP ERROR: The game could not be started [8002014E]
What am I doing wrong? Could it be my firmware? I am running 3.03 OE-C...

Did you read no.22 of my guide?:
"22.) Select it and it should start straight away. (If it bounces back to the XMB menu with an error just press on your game again and this time it should load.)"
Just click on the game a second time and see if it works.

Disable the plugins first.
Plug in your PSP to your PC as normal. Then go into your PSP's drive -> then seplugins -> then open up USBMOUNT.inf.
On the first line that says boot=......
Delete evrything behind the (boot=) so it looks like this:
BEFORE:
boot=Whatever.
AFTER:
boot=
Now restart the PSP and go to Recovery Mode to enable the plugins again.
Now try it out.

Hey Dude.....great guide.
I'm soooo close to getting it working.
I've got FW 3.10 OE-A' and i'm all linked up to the PC. I can see all my ISO/CSOs on the select menu, but when i go to select an ISO my PSP freezes and I have to restart it. After restarting it every time i insert a UMD the PSP freezes. So i disable the plugins and remove the text after "boot" in the INI file, and enable the plugins, and the UMDs load fine. As soon as i try and mount an ISO over the top...they freeze.
It's sooo anoying cause i'm soooo close!!
Any ideas?
Thanks

Edit....downgraded to 3.03OE-C...it doesn't freeze anymore.....but i still can't get it working. The ISO mounts over the UMD icon, i get sound and picture of the ISO, but when it tries to start i get the "Game could not be started (80020148)" error. So it goes back to the XMB. I then start the game again (cause thats what the instruction say) and it just gives the same error.
Any ideas??

Hey,
Deleted everything and started again. Followed your guide to the T. Still no luck. Its not freezing anymore (It only freezes when the game doesn't load, so you just change the INI file and it stops the freezing).
All i get now is the "game could not be started error (80020148)" every time. I've tried all my ISOs/CSOs 5 or 6 times each and always the same error. I get the same error using the UMDMod v4 (the one you have to hold square to active). I've also tried the mount ISO feature of SCEP plugin. All the same result. I know my ISOs work from the memory card so its got be a settings issue or something.
When trying these methods they all seem to connect and disconnect with the computer (indicated by the little noise windows XP makes when you attach a USB device) when you start the game. COuld there be a driver issue and the USB connection is dropping out and therefore can't read the ISO any more. Also i've found that there are different drivers. To use USBhostfs.exe (with UMDMod v4) you need to have the PSP as "PSP Type B". To use SCEP Mount ISO the driver is for just "PSP".
I've done a little reasearch on the 80020148 error and it aparently means "PRX type unsupported / Missing PSAR file". So maybe as its trying to read the ISO and the USB drops out it can't find a certain file it needs? I dunno....just and idea.
Does your USB connection drop in and out when starting up the ISO?
Any ideas?

The noise is suppose to popp up now and then. It's all natural.
Try and have these settings in recovery mode:
Configuration
Skip SCE logo - Enabled
Hide corrupt icons - Enabled
Homebrew Folder - Enabled
Use NO-UMD - Disabled
Fake region - Disabled
Free UMD region - Enabled
CPU Speed
Speed in XMB - Default
Speed in UMD/ ISO - Default
Tell me how you do.

Your guide is really good and I have been able to play alot of my ISOs made, there is a slight problem that I have encountered is that Japanese ISO games cannot load, I have the error message, saying the game can't load. I haven't tried the new settings from your last post but will try it later tonight. Hope it works and thanks again.

Yeah, try the settings that I last wrote in my last post and try and change the region to jap.
"To bonefreak"
It might be worth it to try changing your region to australia too.

Hey guys whats up.
Well heres what I've done so far.
PSP 3.30 OE-A
Launch 1.5 PSP
Using a GAME UMD.
1)Downloaded USBMount V1.03
2)Copied seplugins folder to root.
3)Went to recovery mode, enabled plugins in correct order.
(Disabled NO-UMD)
4)Returned to XMB turned off UMD Auto-Start.
5)Downloaded and installed PSPHost 1.8
(PSPHost 2.0 kept on giving me error message about usbhost not working)
6)Rebooted PSP.
(not sleep mode)
7)From XMB pressed select then chaged settings like you said.
8)Went to file location and it says "No Isos/files here."
9)Then about 10 seconds later while moving around in XMB the PSP freezes.
10)It required pulling the battery out.
11)Upon restart PSP still froze.
12)So I went to recovery mode, enabled USB deleted plugins from the seplugins folder.
13)PSP works fine now.
-So yeah theres my problem, I cant get this too work, help please.
