i have evox installed on my box, and it had a lot of skins already preinstalled. The ones that came wth evox works fine, but whenever i download a skin online it does not work. the background is just all dark but you can;t see the skin. any help would be greatly appreaciated...
i've ran into this a few times, usually i just take a premade skin and throw my pics in there and change the skin.ini file to look for my pic instead of the original pic.
extract the files to your pc. if it creates a folder of its own, ftp the folder over to your xbox. or, you can create a subfolder of the skin in your c:/skin directory and move the files (not the directory containing the files) to that folder. should now read like c:/skin/greenbox with the files inside the greenbox folder
yeah i'll try that darthnip, but i really wanted to get some skins from allxboxskins.com to work, but i'll check out my ini. file and see if theres anything wrong in there.
Most of the time if you look at the .ini file for a skin that does not work, you will notice that it is looking for a totally different folder. For instance there was one named Shrooms I think. The folder the skin was in was named shrooms. The .ini was looking for a folder named mushrooms. Somewhere along the line people changed the folder names and forgot to edit the .ini files.
Damn Renaming Problems.............just like when you always have to rename everything to default.xbe for some emulators and other apps, that should have already been done in the first place. Same thing with your problem, they should be more aware.
