Hi.
I'm having trouble to watch DVD (+-R) in DAV S500.
This DVD's (burned with iomega software after DVD shrink) work just fine in my notebook (toshiba DVD drive) and in other dvd drives.
Does anyone know's any solution for this problem?
I'm using sony entry level DVD (+r and -r) media.

Your stand-alone probably has a very low compatibility with burned DVD's.
Have you tried burning a DVD-R or DVD-RW? These sometimes have a higher compatibility rate.

I have a DAV S500, I use the Pioneer A03 (one of the first DVD-R/RW drives on the market), Nero 5.5, DVD Decrypter, and DVD Shrink (all most current versions). I also use TDK DVD-R 2x Media, it's compatibility is unmatched. I burn all my DVD's on Region 1 and under Nero's UDF/ISO (the last option on the list. Try this, and don't forget to remove the Joliet option in Nero. Use some of the guides on Afterdawn and digitl-digest.com to help you. I've had at most 4 DVD's that were not compatable out of 350. Let me know how it pans out.

To Whassup, yes, i have tried. Acording to dvdrhelp, the s500 is compliant with both +-r/+-rw.
To Syke1981, i'm going to buy TDK DVD's. Then i let you know.
