    i had been trying out different encoders and messed up the config settings , what the problem was it wouldnt automatically encode in one click mode . i had too keep clicking on encode in the cce popup window . it would not continue on to the next file to be encoded by itself . the problem has been corrected . i deleted my config settings file in rebuilder and reset up my settings and it is working fine now . thanks for the help . by the way i'm using cce basic 2.70.1.2 retail not trial and the pro version of rebuilder v089 .

    Problems in setup seem to be the number 1 cause of RB/CCE problems. Good choice on resolving it.

    I think what you were experiencing was the CCE 2.70 bug. CCE should encode automatically when the "-batch" parameter is sent to it. CCE 2.70 trial appears to have a bug in which it doesn't do so -- you have to click on the "Run Encoder Minimized" box on the setup menu to make it work correctly.

    i'm not using the trial version of cce basic , it is retail . is it possiable to downgrade to a earlier version of cce basic that does not have this bug ? is this the only bug i have to worry about with this version of cce basic 2.70.1.2 ? i will try running minimized the next time this happens . sorry i thought rebuilder was the problem because i had just updated and i ran into this issue when trying it out . i didnt know what was happening and why at that point . it does seem to be working now . thanks for the help and the heads up on this .

    i can tell you it always seems like i choose software that has problems or needs work . i guess its my bad luck lately .

    Sorry, I had assumed CCE SP. I've never heard of this happening in the BASIC version.

    I have a query: I used CCE Basic 2.70 and Rebuilder Pro 0.88 to do Blade Trinity, and sometimes when changing chapters it would have a little pause just like when the original switches layers, but by the time I was on chapter 6 it had done it 4 times already. Not sure how often it did it after that, I passed out. But has anyone else seen this? I know Rebuilder Pro is up to 0.90, but 0.88 was the latest out at the time I did that movie.

    I'm curious, what software are you using to burn with, media are you using, and at what speed?

    You have the right answers, seems the problems may be elsewhere.

    Out of curiosity, did you view the ripped file on the HD to see if there was any problems in the same locations on the source?

    When a disc starts skipping in about the middle of the movie or closer to the end of it, the first thought that comes to mind is that you're experiencing " P/O, parity outer" errors. The flaw could have also been the result of bad media. All that's left is a bad rip which is usually caused by a flawed original.

    @brobear: No, I didn't try to view any of the files from the HD.

    @sophacles: I'd blame the original before the blank media, unless I finally got a dud after 300+ G04s. That's still a pretty good track record as far as I'm concerned.

    This isn't a continuous problem and I can still watch the movie, so I'm not going to sweat it too much. Just figured I'd throw it in here to see if anyone else has seen it.

    I've not seen the problem and I use RB quite a bit. The reason I mentioned viewing the video files on the DVD is because I've run into instances where the rip wasn't successful. One of my DVDs had a surface problem. It didn't really look like it, but I got some skips and even a bit of pixelation from it. I saw it in the ripped files used for encoding. I resurfaced the disc and did another rip. All worked well. I'm not saying that is the problem here, just something to check.

    @dlc2000

    CCE Basic does not have an option for 1 pass VBR. The only one-pass option would be CBR -- and that would not give acceptable results.

    hellow jdobbs:

    i was the guy who have this "ERROR: File V0200000001001 shows completed, but no .M2V file existst." problem.

    you gave me the advise to add the command: MIN_BITRATE=500 to the rb.ini under options, but i still had the same problem. so you ask me, what error accour, if i open the cce manually and open the projekt in the d2vavs folder and encod it (could read this on page 76 in this topic)

    errors:

    cce_encoding_init() failed: unknown error

    vinfo_open() failed: ***Could not open the file <F:\D2VAVS\V01000100002001.vaf>***

    does this mean something to you??

    thx dowhny

    The VAF is a file that CCE uses to keep information between passes. There are several possible causes, but that error usually means that the VAF file found was created by a different version of CCE. Go into that directory and delete the .VAF file. Then rerun the encode on that segment.
