If you dont have a modchip then you cannot FTP. The only music you can put on your xbox must come from an original CD. It wont read a burnt CD with a bunch of mp3s on it. I am not sure if it will read a CDRW. If it could, then it would have to be burnt like a normal CD...(.cda format) and you would have to search around for what brand of media your xbox likes. They are picky and only read certain brands of CDRW.

I am curious about this as well. I have XBMP2...and I have never seen that on here? Anyway, when I try and put my songs in the folder they show up in the folder but on the Xbox they are no where to be found. Does anyone know why? I think all that stuff if I am not mistaken is in my E folder. thanks

Your music doesnt show up where? XBMC? If so then you make sure that the folder your music is in is named "music" and this folder needs to be in either the XBMP folder, or in the E: folder..cant remember which. try both.

It funny you mentioned that problem, eggbert, I have been having the same exact problem. I transfered all of my .wma, but no dice. XBMP doesnt read them.

One other side question, I installed XBMC, but it freezes at the XBMC menu screen, do I have to uninstall XBMP in order for XBMC to work, OR, is there anything else I have to install with it, other than the main download from Xbins? thanks

1st of all some xbox can read cd-r's and some can't, the ones that can't read cd-r's they can read cd-rw's and you can put mp3's on them and close the session.

    -

as for the xbmp problem ftp your mp3's or other media files to "E:\music\" and create a folder called "playlist" and put your mp3's in there, if that don't work just switch to xbmc and do the same thing. :)

slink, when you say ".....and close the session" do you mean i have to finalise (close) the cdrw so that i cant erase it again?

Use a program called Xbox music mixer. It works great! All u need is an ethernet network cable run from your pc to the xbox.It will transfer your WMA,MP3 and jpeg files.
These will b saved in a seperate folder and will only work when the music mixer disc is running. The good thing is that u can convert the mp3's into audio files and u can listen to them from the main music menu on ya xbox,so u wont have to insert the disc everytime u want to listen to them.
    Hope this helps you.Bye

You can get the music mixer from any place that sells xbox games. It comes bundled with a karaoke and microphone. This disc is for the xbox, not pc.
There is no need for a mod chip at all.Thats the beauty of this.Even if you hate karaoke, its still worth the buy just for the mp3 jpeg stuff.Go here. This should help u.
