VFAPI won't load d2v file

#1 02 May 2004 @ 13:26
Hi. I've searched this forum and many others...and only one person has asked this question...but they have gotten no answer so...I thought I should ask again.

I have a problem using VFAPI.
When I try to upload a .d2v file to that program I get the message that the file I am trying to upload is invalid.

I've installed ForceASPI and all that...I've followed the tutorials and everything...But I can't seem to figure out what I did wrong.

Thanks for the help.

PS - I've made sure everything is registered, I ran everything I needed to run according to this..http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/vfapi_reader_codec.htm

still...nothing. And the "read me" file in VFAPI consists of the following:

Me too, me too, me too! Did you ever get an answer on this? Or figure it out?
#3 14 May 2004 @ 15:29
nope...as you can see...no one has replied to my post except for you. I wonder why that is...I wish I could be helped with this...

When you installed the VFAPI codec did you install the other part of it (there are 2 seperate installers in the package) if both are not installed it will not read the file.

I tried to install both parts. I keep getting error message: "OEMsetup install failed" What now?
#6 08 Jun 2004 @ 14:25
yes...i installed everything i needed to install, but it still didn't work. I went over everything several times. I even uninstalled and deleted everything, then re downloaded everything again and reinstalled it all several times. Nothing worked. Now...what is the wierdst thing EVER, is that...it worked finally. I just turned on my computer one day, tried it for old times sake...and it worked...I had done nothing different...it just decided to start working or somthing. Stupid thing. Anyway...it works for me now...just cuz it decided to. silly.

hey...i had the same problem with virtual dub and the vfapi codec but managed to get it working through trial and error. i bascially did two things. First i ran the "vifpset.bat" file included in the the vpafi reader codec pack and second i copy pasted the "VFcodec.dll" file from the Vfapi pack into my virtual dub directory.Im not exactly sure as to why it works in this way but i think its maybe due to the fact the vfapi is NOT suited for windows xp. newayz, hope it works for ull.

In addition, if it still doesnt work, try downloading the Vfapi pack from doom9.org.
