Hi all, and yes, I'm a newbie.

I'm using a Mac G4 with a Superdrive. I am very familiar with backing up DVD-9s using software like DVD Backup, DVD2OneX and MacTheRipper. I have Toast 6 Titanium. I was wondering what the best software selection for backing up PS2 games on a Mac is. I have not invested in a Mod Chip yet — I realize I have to do that — and am considering the swap tray. I am just finding out whether it is possible to back them up before making the investment.

Thanks for any advice!

You have exactly what you need. Just throw in a DVD game, Select copy from the menu in the toast window and click record. Once it is done ripping the game to the hardrive, it will ask you to put in a blank DVD. Do so and select your speed and say record again and it will make a perfect 1 to 1 copy. Works perfectly everytime. I have a flip top with swap magic discs and have yet to find a game that I cannot boot. You are set to go.

Thanks! Again, another reason I love Macs. Even easier than I thought.

I tried to backup my copy of Silent Hill 3, using Toast 6 Titanium. In the CD/DVD Copy menu I choose "save as disc image" to save the game to my harddisk first. I then burnt it to a Sony DVD-R. When I tried to play it, the game starts with the Silent Hill 3 screen but then freezes... Did I do something wrong??
I'm using an external LaCie DVD burner, burnt te game at 1x speed and I'm using the Sildecard and the boot DVD to start the game..
