Hi I just got a Xbox and some games with it. Now I want to know how to backup my Xbox games and DVD movies to a new 250GB 7200rpm hard drive and run Xbox Media Player and Evolution X on it. So what mod chips should I get? It dosen't matter how much it is $ or I have to solder it and I still want Xbox Live. Dosen't matter what brand of hard drive I use because I heard that something about Locking your hard drive. Thanks
It all depends, different people rave on about different chips. I would go with Xecutor cos I had an Xecutor 1, 2.0lite and 2.3b lite so far they are all great. the new ones have an external switch for disabling so you can use xbox live. Check out xbox-scene forums for hdd locking, you will need to lock your new hdd for it to work with the chip off. not all drives can be locked. Personally, would wait for the new X3 chip, it looks sweet as.
even with the HDD locked you can still get banned, microsoft are scaning for the size and make of the HDD, this however does not seem to be enfourced so much at the moment.
