how long does it take

    what is the fastest time anyone has done 1.5 hour dvd to Dvix. some one was telling me it takes up to 2 to 4 hours.

    it cant be worth doing then. what is the best software to do it in the fastest time. i got all the all the Dvix encoders from the software page

    It can depend on your CPU speed and your desktop background settings for example it can take longer if you have a screensaver running. However it can take longer if you want to have a movie of a better quality as you'll need to have higher bitrates.

    To your question about what program is best,i wouldn't just use one program as you won't have much variation of how you want it, i were you id use the afterdawn guide which has a list of all the programs which are free and very small files. This will be you more variation on what speed and quality but you must follow guide if total newbie.

    With XP2100-512MB, the fastest Ive done is 27fps (thats ~13% faster than real-time). Havnt had time to do anythin as of late.
