UPDATED: EA to sue South Park writers over Tiger Woods episode UPDATE: "Reports that EA SPORTS plans to sue the creators of South Park are false."
On Wednesday, Comedy Central aired the first episode of South Park's 14th season, dubbed "Sexual Healing" which revolved around Tiger Wood's sex scandal as well as the video game Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, which is set for a Q3 2010 release.

Today, Daily Informer is reporting that EA Sports, the publisher behind the Tiger Woods series is set to sue South Park writers Matt Stone and Trey Parker over their disgust of the episode.

The episode shows sequences from the upcoming golf game but also includes scenes of Tiger and wife Elin fighting, and even crashing his SUV into a tree. At the end of the episode, after Tiger has apologized to the media and the game returns to just playing golf, the kids of the show leave the game, calling it "boring again."



While many fans found the ep funny, EA Sports did not and DI says their source at the company added that "soon after the airing of the episode the top beef were called in, even Peter Moore was informed of the situation. Before the episode aired the marketing folks were already worried, but now they have a lot more to worry about."

brill ep. first thing I thought that would be fun game compared to the borning crap EA craps out each year.

other websites have report that EA have said they have no plans to take legal action over the south park ep

I don't see how EA can win this it was a parody . Also this isn't really smart on their part they are suing the creators of a show that a lot of gamers like. It was all the joke EA sucks

AS others have already said, this is a really stupid move on EA's part. Last I checked, parody (And review) are protected as free speech, and for good reason.

If anything, the episode will increase the game's audience! I didn't even know they were still pumping out Tiger Woods games. EA should be downright flattered.

free speech takes a backseat to perceived revenue. i think.

EA is the joke here. And to tnt1125, the truth hurts EA. EA should open the videogame with Tiger's apology. Would be funny.

Hahaha. I wish that they would and fall on their collective faces. South Park seems unstoppable. If Isaac Hayes quitting and then passing away didn't stop them, what makes EA think they have a chance?

lmao, i second that statement, the tiger woods games are all too similar, dont get me wrong, i like a quick blast on TW for a chillout game, but if u played 1 Tiger game, u pretty much played them ALL!!!!!
