Looks like we should stop playing games in the interest of better computer security. You would not need an Intel I7 processor for just office and windows.

you don't have to drop security to play games but if you want the best Gaming experience, its best not to have anything that may interfere with traffic or files being processed

In my line of work, we have a small network that NEVER connects to the Internet. NEVER! The only concerns we get from time to time about it is with malware from infected flash drives ...

paid av is a ripoff.. plain and simple.. WHY do they need you to pay every year if they don't have some eyes towards deliberate manipulation? The worst screwed up infected systems I see ALWAYS have paid av "solutions" on them.. the ones with avast and avg always seem to be clean (or at least nothing really nasty).. which does reinforce the suspicions that the makers of the paid junk are up to something...
I don't even have any antivirus.. not required.. and it's so nice to USE my hardware for it's intended purpose when I turn it on, instead of wasting hours every week "protecting and securing" a crapware unsecure poorly built paid for operating system.

There are a lot of free scanners, and most are better than Norton or McAfee, but that still does not make them good enough for me.
BTW...Next time I have to order, I'm just getting the scanner; I've fallen in love with Comodo firewall.
