Ok I have a X-Ecuter 2.3B Lite, I installed it turned on my box with the Cromwell screen.I DLed and burned executer 4973 bios. It seemed to take it installed and then it shut down my xbox. My question is what happens next, I know the tutorials ive seen say to make a boot disk for the dashboard, and connect to FTP and all.But when i restart my xbox its still on that cromwell screen and automatically opens my cdrom. I just want to know im on the right track before going further.The tutorials dont seem to say "after you flash the bios ,you will or will not see the cromwell screen again.....or the cd rom will not automatically open.Please help . How do you know for sure if the bios was actually flashed.
Did you reset the dip switch to bank 1? "Once the chip has flashed the Xbox will automatically shut down. Now what you have done is flashed a 512k bios image (2 x 256k) to a 1MB X2 modchip. On the X2 Lite the updated bios is now on Bank 1 and the Cromwell remains on Bank 2. So you need to switch the mod to Bank 1 in order to finish the process. thank you for replying so soon scottas.The read-me file on my bios i DLed said to make the Bios 1024. I copyed and pasted 256k , 4 times using the bios manager.So maybe my problem is thats.Like that tutorial it loaded and supposedly flashed in bank 1, then restarted, its just the next time i restarted i was still on the cromwell.So i will make a bios disk with 512k instead of 1024k.Both banks seem to boot to cromwell.Thanks again i will let you know what happens.my xbox is a v1 and all that seems to work is dvdr.also does it matter how big my dummy file is for bios and later the dashboard?
