I understand the ripping process. Now I need programs to do them. I want to rip the dvd's main movie to the hard drive. Then convert it to avi with subtitles. What do I use. Please help, my head's been hurting for the past two days searching for programs to do this. This is as far as I've gotten: Ripping dvd to hard drive- claddvd.net creates a large VOB Converting to AVI- Dr.Divx (selects track for audio language) But doesn't have subtitle support

i'm having compatibility issues with dvddcrypter, and smartripper appears to be in german. i don't understand it unfortunately. i'm using claddvd.net which is free. it seems to be ok. what other programs are out there that can backup the dvd to the harddrive? thank you for helping guys.
