Some main movies, even with foreign language stuff stripped out, are too large to fit onto
a 4.7GB dvd-r. Only way I've found so far to
do it is to use ifoedit with option "split to 2 dvd-r's" (this is done after I've ripped dvd to hard drive using dvd decrypter).

Question: Is there an easier way to split to 2 dvd-r's besides using ifoedit?

After I use ifoedit, it does split the movie and puts a number of vobs and ifo files
into 2 hard drive folders, one meant for each
dvd-r. So far, so good.

Problem: When it does write ifo files (and
sometimes it writes all or some of those ifo files and other times it doesn't write them all or even writes no ifo files!!!) video_ts.ifo and vts_01_0.ifo, those files seem to be wrong because Nero refuses to burn
dvd-r's with them. I've had to delete those
ifo files and run ifoedit again with the
"create ifo files" button and then use "get
vts sectors" button. Those newly-created ifo files work ok: nero burns them and the dvd-r's play ok in my dvd playing software.

What is going on here? When I use "split to 2 dvd-r's" option, why doesn't ifoedit
create ifo files that work so I would not have to run ifoedit again with "create ifo files"?
This wastes a very large amount of time.

Something else I like to do is to copy the movie trailer if there is one. It is always in another vts, not the same vts as the main movie.

So, even though I copy the trailer vts along with its vts_xx_0.ifo file, dvd station/hollywood plus does not play it back correctly: if it is wide screen, it plays it back stretched vertically too much. The fast scan and slow motion and chapter skip buttons don't work either.

Question: how can I get it to play back ok?

I'm guessing that the problem is that the vts_xx_0.ifo file and probably also the
video_ts.ifo files need to somehow be edited??

Or is there some way I should run ifo "create ifo files" on the main movie vob and then another time on the trailer vob?

It would be great if my dvd player would simply find the trailer as the next chapter after the main movie (or maybe instead, as the next title-I don't know anything about
using more than one title-is that a better approach??)

Question: How can I add my own chapter marks and how can I delete existing chapter marks?

Please note that when I do what I have to do to get everything above to work, I don't care
at all about keeping menus or any language other than English or any subtitles so if anything you suggest would lose those, that's ok.

Thanks for any help!!!!!!!!!!!!
