Can anyone help. I am using the official xbox rgb scart lead and when i set the screen type to letterbox games are still displayed as if the screen was set to normal and not with black borders at the top and bottom. I know the games I am using support widescreen so what is the problem.

if you want widescreen select widescreen, also if your tv supports widescreen then it will automatically get rid of the black lines(its what they do)

Games that support wide screen will only use that mode if your xbox is connected to a 16:9 TV set. You can't have these black borders that you see in movies

be sure to change the video options in the dashboard , set it at letterbox in there or else it might not play right even with it set properly in the game.
