THe Basics of Cheap XBOX

    Hi guys,
    I really need help.
    I want to buy an xbox, and make backups of the CDs in case they are scratched. I read about the need to mod the XBOX. Can anybody tell me how to start? What mod chip to buy and where?
    How to install it? How to set it up?
    I have a computer with DVD writer and DVD X platinum,
    do I need anything else?

    All the info on the net is messed up, help me concentrate it so that new people will get the whole picture and not pieces of it.

    Sorry to break it to ya but renting games and copying them is illegal, do you mean you want to buy games and back them up...
