hey im just cerious, i dont have a backup folder for my xbox. im using the evolution bios. for some reason i need to get into that folder but i dont have it , n e way i can fix this problem? can i just copy someone elses back up folder nad paste it in my xbox.. n e answer would be great
You have run backup from the evox "system utils" menu, right? It will then place the backup folder into the c: partition. No, you can't copy the folder from someone elses box as it contains information specific to your xbox.
hey liquid i dont know what ur talkin about when u meation system utils, in my evolution there is no menu for that. this is a list of my options, can you go through step by step for me. thanx game management on xbox hd game and media backup tool choose a different skin launch apps from hd ms dashboard- use to change time/date and tv setting system settings
oops my bad thats my system management options the actual main option is this play game or media from dvdrom drive play games from hd game trainers dvd movie player - region free self installed emulators xbox media player system management reboot xbox power off xbox
hmm... it would normally be un the system management menu (or whatever you decided to call the system subfolder). ftp into your box and edit "evox.ini". There should be a line in the menu portion of the .ini (you'll see all the things that are displayed on your screen here, such as "game management on hdd" and so on). There MIGHT be a line in there somewhere that says something like this: item,"backup","blah blah". If you see it it's most likely commented out with a # in front of it. Remove the # and save the .ini. If that's the case, your done. If not, you will have to add the line (assuming your version of evoX has the util. I don't think there's a version of evoX without it though. Go to www.xbox-scene.com and look for the evoX tutorials there. They should be able to help you find what you're looking for.
if you used slayers(looks to me like you did from the way the menu is setup) there will be no option on the hard drive to backup you have to boot the cd and there is a backup option on that
hey you guys thanx for all the informations i really appriciated it. a quick question for you andres200 yeh i am using slayer but the thing is i ftp all the files over to my ebox when i was seting up the bios. so what woudl u recommend me do? should i create a bios cd and put it in, and im wondering if i dot hat wouldnt my oringinal bios be wiped out?

ah. so slayers doesn't include the backup utility, eh? I've never used slayers before. Sorry for all of that "commented out" mumbo jumbo .
