I just got a new dell laptop, I had been running my tv to my desktop through the "line-in" and then out the speakers on my computer. My laptop does have a "line-in" and I'm unsure on how to hook the tv to my computer speakers without losing computer sound as well. (I have an S-video out on my laptop if that helps)
What's up puffywood, did you sort this one out? No line-in, eh... You can split your TV sound into your PC sound, on the way to the speakers, providing they are self-amplified. (You could have been using PC-amplified before, but the TV probably would've sounded better...) A little $19 Radio Shack switch-box would be preferable. An S-video or Y/C output is a composite video signal, separated into Luminance and Chrominance. This will be useful only to display PC video on an external video device, such as your TV. Regards
???? you said you do have a line-in, correct? here's what ya do: 1. get an rca to minipin (headphone jack) 2. connect the rca's to your tvs audio out, and the headphone jack part into your laptops line-in 3. make sure you line-in on Volume Control is not muted.. voila! line-in sound!! , just leave your other connections as is... peace seamonkey420
