hello all...

I have swap magic v.2 & a v.4 PS2, most games take forever to load, most recently Simpsons Hit & Run, it will get to the main screen, i'll hit start but then my PS2 will take forever to advance, it eventually will, but maybe 20-30 minutes later..any thoughts why this is happening? this is happening more often than not with Mafia, Max Payne 2, Suffering, Red Dead Revolver...

any help would be greatly appreciated..

hmmmm seems your ps2 is struggling to read the backup, two thoughts spring to mind this could be a media problem orlaser problem, you could try cleaning the laser in your ps2 or adjusting it(at your own risk). You could try using a different brand/type of media for example if you are using dvd+r you could try dvd-r or try using better quality dvdr discs

thanks for the input devil! i guess i will try different media, although i'm not sure what type i'm using now (some generic, no letters anywhere kind of dvd+r) i guess thats easier than going thru the lens cleaning (any threads on how to do this?)

it really stinks that i've lost so many dvd's just cause they stutter or freeze after loading...

have a look here http://www.cyber-mag.com/station/laserPS2.htm for info on cleaning your laser and to identify the maker of those dvdr discs you could try dvd identifier from here http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/ if you want
