i cant get my dvds to play with power dvd

a week ago i bought this dvd, panic. great movie but i cant get it to work on my computer. i can watch all chapters from one to 11 at 12 PowerDVD XP 4.0 sends out an error message:

Error Code: 89020003
The DVD disc might have been damaged so as to inhibit playback operation.
Please clean the surface of the disc if possible. If it has been scratched, it might not be readable.

its a shame. the dvd is brand new and theres not even one scrath on it. ive tried diffrent kinds of cleaning fluids and iv even tried a dvd lens cleaner, but it still won't work... whats more iritating is that it plays fine on my philips dvd701 and that it plays all other dvds that i have.

my dvd player in my computer is liteon dvd-rom ltd163d. then i thought maybe it has to do with some kind of bug. so i checked on www.liteonit.com for PowerDVD XP 4.0 patches but there isnt any.

then i came up with an other idea. what if i converted da shit into something else and then watch it straight from the hard disc. i asked a friend if theres any way to do this and he said i should try the guides at www.doom9.org. i did the guide and everything seemed to be working fine but half way throug the program crashed... then i tested the program with an other cd and it worked fine... though i had problems with the svcd burning but thats another story.

so now im runing low on ideas, does anyone have one please let me know.
