i'm a newbie and just getting into gaming. i was just wondering which console i should buy and what hack stuff should be installed. i live in Vancouver, Canada. whats a good reliable dealer that i could buy everything intalled including mod chip and addons?


can xbox play Ps2 games? or vice or versa?

is the alladin chip better the xenon chip..?

at www.greendish.com i was wondering if its good good for their hack xbox.

which is better ps2 with mod or xbox with mod?

if your going to be childish and accuse some mebers here that they are 10 years old, please leave. I started this thread and i'am very pleased with the discussion and peoples views. I'am not a gamer in any way. my last game was Donkey King on Colico and river raid on atari. Now that i'am 35, i want to buy a gaming console. I understand that with ps2, it has a larger selection because it can play previous sony ps1 games. At Walmart, i saw that all PS2 games can be found also with Xbox, the prices are the same.


My question i had asked when starting this thread, which is better and which has better features when modified. I got a good ideal and still listening for new opinions until i make my purchase in the middle of July 2004.

My little girl whose 15 years old tells me that all the asians cater to the PS and have more in common with Animation.

as to better strategy games Its the xbox that wins overall rating including able to play pc and including ps1 and ps2 game under emulation.

what i like about xbox, My HDTV as a hook-up fox Xbox that i can use Xbox as my home entertainment centre that can work with home theatre stereo.

but do i want just a game console like Sony PS2 for
$179 canadian


or do I want endless capability game console that can do whatever the minds imagines for $179 canadian


I think all game console will be more involve in our surroundings as it will be part of a home centre station for various applications. what stops the industry is, whats' the standards it must follow and evaluate for cost measures and its potential.

That generation will see when LOnghorn is unleash late 2005, it will be apply and all will follow its new base for standardizations.

I would like to hear those who have bothe PS2 and XBOX, what are the pros and cons between the two.

To Convolute, Yes indeed, your friend is right in enjoying Gamecube the most to his other game machine xbox & Ps2.
I think Gamecube is the only one that stayed thru in the game format of Colico, Nintendo, Atari, Saga.

In saying that, Gamecube stayed in the cartoon gaming or Arcade format, which i still enjoy.

I notice (watching others play PS2 and Xbox), those game machine where mostly invented to compete with each other for dominance no longer for better game selection but for power, capabilities, features, and especially super graphic analysis, in other terms, a portable computer primary for gaming.


As to Valur, hmmmmmmmmmmmm... funny comment you made, but one that discriminating towards asian. I do agree with you by no means, don't get me wrong. In this world, the Asian are invading all countries and with their buying power as a whole, they can influence in most occasion, which product will get more attention.

By saying that, thus doesn't mean its a greater product from the next, just mean when the asian culture as more people than the rest of the world combine except for East Indians (no2), the Asian community will dictate new technology hardwares.

As to your opinion on Xbox and Bill Gates, you are truly right. The Xbox2 stated for July 2005 will be a greater gaming console and will surpass Ps2 with game selection by 2006. But one thing stands between Gates and the Red flag, his money in advertising versus the buying power of million of Asians worldwide.

finty101 you have no justification to what ignorant comment you've made. I've been to Beijing and travelled throughout Cuba for 3 months to get the feeling of the last communist country before dictator Fidel Castrol passes away.

Only thing good about communist, it takes care of its people at no cost for education and medical attention.

People live in poverty and lower standard in lifestyle, and food are given in rations. You are limited to what you get and most of time, they run out of food when you go and pick up what you need. Your rations are documentated and always malnurious.

In a country like China and Cuba, they are one of the lowest paid labour workers.

As to Japan that highly in to games???? hummmm

Japanese invest highly in research in softwares, hardwares and new innovations.

As to Gaming, the asian community as in whole,, yes asian too that are found elsewhere beside China, are the majority of buyers for gaming consoles.
