Ok...when I try to use DVD Shrink it will get to 93% encoding and then this error comes up:
DVD Shrink encountered and error and cannot continue. Failed to write file "VTS_24_1.VOB"
    Access is denied.

    any ideas?

That usually refers to a bad disc. There may be some scratches or it may be dirty. Try cleaning the disc or try another disc to see if it works.

    Hope this helps.

What version of Windows are you using?
Is your Hard Disk Drive running a FAT 32 or a NTFS file system.
Are you encoding to a ISO Disc Image?

You will get an error like that if you are encoding to a ISO Disc Image on a Hard Disk Drive running a FAT 32 file system because there is a 4GB file size limit.

    Options:
    1
Upgrade to Windows XP and Convert or Format your drive to NTFS.
    2
Don't use DVD Shrink to write a ISO Disc Image. Use DVD Shrink to write files and a program like Nero to burn.
    3
Use programs like AutoShrinkISO or ImgTool Classic that make split ISO Disc Images that fit on FAT 32 drives.

    4
Set a Custom DVD Target size in the DVD Shrink Preferences. A custom size of 4090MB will make a ISO Disc Image that will be less than 4GB on a FAT 32 drive.
    5
Use a NTFS utility with Windows 98.

Ty very much Veblin for all the help...I used the 4th option on you list and so far its working fine.
Just one other question....Does the encoding process usually take a long time? It took over an hour to encode a movie but less then 15mins to burn.

    Thanks again :)
